Skyler and Jaden’s Pensacola Beach wedding gave us one of the most unforgettable evenings we have experienced in 14 years of photographing beach weddings.

Their love story began when they attended the same school. Skyler was a dancer, and Jaden was a football player. One evening, Jaden asked one of his friends to get Skyler’s phone number—and the rest is history.

Their wedding ceremony was filled with meaningful family moments. Skyler’s grandfather had the very special honor of being the ring bearer, making the occasion even more memorable.

The bridal party was so much fun, and the bridesmaids looked beautiful in their soft pink dresses. Skyler then walked down the aisle to “Biblical” by Calum Scott. It was such a beautiful and emotional moment.

As we prepared for the Pensacola Beach wedding ceremony, a massive storm was building behind us. Then, as if the evening wasn’t already special enough, the Blue Angels flew overhead.

When they saw the wedding below, they circled around and gave us another incredible opportunity for photographs. It was a magical Pensacola Beach moment that none of us will ever forget.

The sky continued to put on a show. A beautiful sunset appeared while the storm rolled in furiously behind us, creating one of the most dramatic wedding backdrops I have ever photographed.

Anne & Travis's Fort Morgan Real Wedding: Beachfront Ceremony & Reception at 480 Brant Lane

Tucked along the quiet, sandy stretch of Fort Morgan, Anne and Travis's beachfront home wedding brought together everything we love about coastal Alabama celebrations — vibrant color, warm golden light, and a setting so private it felt like the couple had the whole coastline to themselves.

The Setting

The wedding took place at a private home at 480 Brant Lane in Fort Morgan, with both the ceremony and reception held right on site. Tables were dressed in crisp white linens with soft blush runners, topped with lush, jewel-toned floral arrangements in gold compotes — hydrangea, garden roses, and ranunculus in shades of pink, peach, yellow, and coral. It set a romantic, garden-meets-shoreline tone for the day before anyone even reached the sand.

Down on the beach, the ceremony arch was the showstopper: our summer arch bursting with the same lush palette — pink, peach, yellow, and pops of hot pink bougainvillea trailing through eucalyptus greenery — framing an unobstructed view of the Gulf. Simple pillar candles lined the sand at the base, keeping the focus on the flowers and the water beyond.

The Ceremony & Golden Hour

As the sun dropped low, Anne and Travis made their way down the aisle barefoot in the sand, veil catching the breeze. Portraits followed along the shoreline as the sky shifted into soft pinks and lavender — the kind of Fort Morgan sunset that photographs almost entirely on its own. The couple returned to the floral arch for close-up portraits before heading back down to the water's edge for a few final frames as the last light faded.

Working With a Fort Morgan House Venue: A Few Notes

Private homes along Fort Morgan offer a level of privacy and direct beach access that's hard to beat, but this location came with a few logistical quirks worth knowing if you're considering a similar setup:

• Parking was limited. With the ceremony and reception both happening on site, vehicle space was tight, and coordinating drop-offs and guest parking took some advance planning.

• The driveway and road leading to the house were very narrow, which made it a challenge for larger vendor vehicles and required careful timing to avoid congestion getting in and out.

• The under-house area, where much of the reception setup lived, was fairly small, so furniture and layout had to be planned tightly to make the space work comfortably for the full guest count.

None of it got in the way of a beautiful day — but for anyone booking a private beach house for their wedding, it's a good reminder to walk the property (and the road in) ahead of time and plan logistics accordingly.

Renting a beachfront house that specifically allows weddings and events is another great option. Airbnb and Vrbo do not allow weddings/events, so contact a local vacation rental company, such as Harris Properties, and ask for wedding-friendly homes.

Beach houses usually offer a quieter stretch of beach with fewer people nearby.

3. Hotels & Condos

Some hotels and condos allow beach weddings with permission. We usually don’t recommend this option because the beach can be crowded with guests, umbrellas, chairs, and busy boardwalks.

No. The cities do not allow weddings on the city beaches.

Can I have a private beach wedding in Alabama?

There is no completely private beach in Alabama. The beach is public, while the area up to the dunes may be private property. Renting a beachfront house usually gives you a quieter location with fewer people around.

Is a Beach Pavilion wedding held under the pavilion?

No. The $150 permit is for your wedding on the beach. If you would like to use the pavilion itself, it must be rented separately by contacting Gulf State Park.

Can I just go to the beach and get married?

No. You need permission and the required permit for your location. Park rangers have the right to ask to see your permit.

Can I rent chairs myself and use the Beach Pavilion beach?

No. For a wedding setup, you need to work with a beach wedding company that is insured and an approved vendor with Gulf State Park.
