Micro Beach Weddings: Embracing Intimate Wedding ceremonies
Destination beach weddings are typically not as large and grand as traditional weddings due to the travel involved. They tend to attract smaller wedding ceremonies; however, in recent years, a new trend has emerged — micro beach weddings with intimate ceremonies that focus on simplicity, romance, and meaningful connections. If you're dreaming of saying "I do" with the sand between your toes and the turquoise ocean as your backdrop, here's why a micro beach wedding might be the perfect choice for your destination wedding celebration. However, first, I think it is important to look at what a micro beach wedding is and isn’t!
What is a Micro Wedding?
Micro Weddings are NOT elopements, which usually just involve the couple tying the knot, and occasionally 1-4 individuals accompanying them. A micro wedding, on the other hand, is a
scaled-down version of a traditional wedding, except there will be fewer guests, usually under 50, but typically much smaller. Your smaller guestlist will result in a more custom-styled wedding day on a smaller budget.
Benefits of a Micro Beach Wedding Intimate Setting
One of the most appealing aspects of a micro beach wedding is the intimate setting it provides. Instead of a large, impersonal venue, you and your partner can exchange vows in a secluded corner of the beach, surrounded by only your closest family and friends. This intimate setting creates a sense of warmth and connection that is often lost in larger, more traditional weddings. Florida and Alabama offer beautiful and picturesque coastlines perfect for your intimate beach wedding. Whether you're looking for an upscale, luxury atmosphere, or a secluded piece of paradise, there is something for everyone.
Simplified Planning
Planning a micro beach wedding is often much simpler and less stressful than organizing a larger event. With fewer guests to accommodate, you can focus on the details that matter most to you, whether it's personalized decor, gourmet cuisine, or unique entertainment options. You Dream Beach Weddings takes care of all the planning so all you have to do is relax and enjoy the moment.
Meaningful Connections
By keeping your guest list small, you have the opportunity to spend extended quality time with each and every person who attends your wedding. Whether it's sharing heartfelt moments with your parents, laughing with your siblings, or reminiscing with old friends, a micro beach wedding allows you to forge meaningful connections and create lasting memories with the people who matter most. You can also spend time together before and after the wedding enjoying and exploring your surroundings.
Budget-Friendly Options
Contrary to popular belief, destination weddings can actually be more budget-friendly than traditional weddings, especially when it comes to micro beach weddings. A smaller wedding with fewer guests means you can often achieve a level of elegance, luxury, and romance at a fraction of the cost. At Your Dream Beach Weddings we can recommend and assist with vendors, from hair stylists and florists to entertainers and caterers, we have established relationships with top-quality wedding vendors. Relying on our extensive network, we will recommend trusted professionals who align with your style and budget, ensuring that every aspect of your wedding is impeccable.
Unforgettable Experience
Above all, an intimate micro beach wedding promises an unforgettable experience that you and your guests will cherish for a lifetime. From the breathtaking beauty of the ocean to the soft, sandy shores beneath your feet, every moment of your destination celebration will be filled with romance, joy, and magic. You have the flexibility to customize every aspect of your celebration to reflect your unique style and personality. Whether you're exchanging vows in a barefoot ceremony in the morning, dancing under the stars at sunset, or simply basking in the warmth of your love, a micro beach wedding is sure to be a day you'll never forget.
Micro beach weddings offer a perfect blend of intimacy, romance, and simplicity for couples seeking a destination celebration that is truly low-key and unforgettable. Ready to plan your intimate micro beach wedding? Contact us today to turn your wedding dream into a reality.
Choosing the Perfect Music for Your Beach Wedding
Your beach wedding is a celebration of love, surrounded by the serene beauty of the ocean and the gentle whispers of the waves. As you exchange vows with the sand between your toes and the sun setting on the horizon, the right music can set the perfect tone for your special day. While some might be content to just listen to the soundtrack of ocean waves, adding in the right music can transform your day. Here's a guide to selecting the perfect soundtrack for your beach wedding!
Your Ceremony Music
I recommend selecting soft and romantic music for the processional such as instrumental or piano pieces that evoke a timeless and elegant atmosphere.
The Bride’s grand Entrance can be a classic tune or a song that holds special meaning to the couple. Whether it's a classic tune or a modern favorite, choose a song that speaks to your hearts and sets the tone for the ceremony.
If you are looking for something classic, consider Wedding March, by Felix Mendelssohn, or the Bridal Chorus by Richard Wagner. Both of these traditional songs make you instantly think of the wedding ceremony or the bride coming down the aisle.
You could also opt to have a live musician or string quartet play during your beach ceremony. The soothing sounds of an acoustic guitar, ukulele, violin or other stringed instruments can add an intimate and romantic touch to your ceremony.
If you want to embrace the beachy vibes and laid-back atmosphere, you can select songs that create a sense of relaxation and happiness by choosing tunes with a tropical or island-inspired feel to complement the natural beauty of your surroundings.
Reception Playlist
There is a variety of music to be played at the reception. One of the most important songs chosen is the bride and groom’s first dance song. Couples often dance to a special song that holds special meaning to them. Some amazing choices for first dance songs that also sound great on the piano, setting the tone for a romantic evening, are Perfect by Ed Sheeran or All of Me by John Legend. There are endless possibilities when it comes to beautiful love songs set to piano music.
As the dance floor opens, you will likely choose a mixture of upbeat dancing songs and slower songs. Since this is a dreamy beach wedding, you may decide to mix in energetic songs that celebrate your beach theme with songs of love, sun, sand, and surf.
For all the in-between moments, the background music you choose will set the mood.
Before and after the ceremony, you might want to keep it low-key with classical music or some easy listening. The music you choose should also help signal the transition between events and what vibe you want to create.
While you should definitely include the classics in your wedding playlist, your beach wedding should include some wedding songs that give the nod to your surroundings. With the right music, your beach wedding will be a harmonious celebration of love, surrounded by the beauty of the ocean and the warmth of your closest family and friends. Whether you're walking down the aisle to a romantic ballad or dancing under the stars to upbeat tunes, the perfect soundtrack will set the tone for a day you'll never forget.

Who to Tip at Your Destination Wedding
Your wedding day is a celebration of love and commitment, made possible by the hard work and dedication of numerous vendors and wedding professionals. As a wedding planner specializing in destination beach weddings, I often receive questions related to tipping such as, do I need to tip or who should I tip? While tipping is not mandatory, it is a thoughtful gesture to show appreciation for the exceptional service provided by those who contribute to making your special day unforgettable. Tipping etiquette for destination beach weddings can vary depending on the location and the services provided by vendors. However, here are some general guidelines to consider when tipping at a destination wedding.
The Hardest Workers
First and foremost, consider tipping the unsung heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes to set up and execute your wedding. These hard working individuals often labor in extreme conditions, enduring heat, rain, and long hours to ensure every detail is perfect while setting up tents, seating, and other components. Whether it's the venue staff, catering team, or rental company employees, a generous tip can go a long way in expressing gratitude for their hard work and dedication.
Venue Staff
If your wedding venue provides exceptional service throughout the day, consider tipping the venue coordinator, servers, bartenders, and other staff members who help make your celebration run smoothly. A gratuity of 15-20% of the total bill is customary for venue staff, although it's always appreciated to tip more for exceptional service. However, you should factor in service charges, as some destination wedding venues or resorts include a service charge in the overall cost of your wedding package. This service charge is often distributed among the staff, including servers, bartenders, and other personnel. If a service charge is included, additional tipping may not be necessary, but you may still choose to tip individual staff members for exceptional service.
Other Vendors
For vendors such as photographers, DJs, and florists, tipping is typically not required but is appreciated for exceptional service. While tipping is not expected or necessary for all wedding vendors, consider showing appreciation in other ways, like expressing your gratitude verbally, with a thank you note, or leaving positive reviews on google and/or their website. Positive reviews not only acknowledge the hard work of your vendors, but also help future couples make informed decisions when selecting vendors for their own weddings. These kind, positive reviews go a long way in showing your appreciation. Personalized words of gratitude can mean just as much as a monetary tip and leave a lasting impression on those who helped bring your wedding vision to life.
Consult with Your Wedding Planner
Your wedding planner or coordinator can be a valuable resource when it comes to tipping etiquette for destination weddings. They can provide guidance on customary tipping practices in the local area and help ensure that gratuities are distributed appropriately to vendors and service providers. This can also help you plan ahead for your budget. When you partner with us, we will give you guidance if you aren’t sure who or what to tip.
Budgeting Tips
Budgeting for your destination wedding should include gratuities for key vendors and service providers. First, make a list of all the staff and vendors involved. Then decide on a budget and stick to it. It doesn’t need to be difficult though! Just calculate about 10-15% of the vendor’s cost and add that amount to your wedding budget. This will help you ensure everyone is taken care of and you have enough money saved to cover it.
It’s important to remember that it isn’t just about money; it’s about showing gratitude for someone who has gone above and beyond for you on such an important, memorable day. While destination weddings offer less stress and more time to relax and enjoy the moments, you want to make sure those who are making your dream day come to life know how much you appreciate them!

Destination Weddings: For Anyone With a Sense of Adventure
For couples with a sense of adventure, traditional weddings may not quite capture the excitement and thrill they crave. Enter destination weddings—a perfect opportunity to combine love, adventure, and travel into one unforgettable experience. Here's why destination weddings are the ultimate choice for adventurous couples!
Embrace Adventure
Beach destination weddings, especially here in the Florida and Alabama coasts offer the chance to tie the knot in breathtaking locations. You can exchange vows on gorgeous beaches with your toes in the sand and the ocean breeze at your back. With a destination wedding, couples can embark on an adventure together and create memories that will last a lifetime. With a destination wedding, there is less hassle and stress and therefore more time to explore and enjoy the surroundings,
Easier for Busy Brides and Grooms
Planning a traditional wedding can be time-consuming and stressful, especially for busy couples juggling work, family, and other commitments. Destination weddings offer a simpler and more streamlined alternative, especially when you work with wedding planners like us at Your Dream Beach Wedding! We have many different wedding packages ranging from comprehensive to a la carte, so that you can truly get the wedding of your dreams and have every detail taken care of for you. A destination wedding alone relives much of the stress that comes with a traditional wedding, but when you work with a wedding planner, couples can really focus on enjoying their special day without the added stress of planning logistics.
Personalized Wedding
One of the greatest benefits of a destination wedding is the freedom to personalize every aspect of the celebration. Everything from the location to the decor is a reflection of you and your personality. Beach destination weddings welcome the incorporation of cultural traditions and customs into the ceremony, allowing couples to express themselves in meaningful and memorable ways. Whether you're exchanging vows on a secluded beach or saying "I do" at a coastal beach house, your destination wedding is an opportunity to make a statement and celebrate your love in your own unique style.
Quality Time and Having Fun
The intimate and relaxed setting allows ample time to spend with your closest family and friends. Unlike traditional weddings, which often involve large guest lists and hectic schedules, destination weddings typically have smaller guest counts, allowing couples to connect on a deeper level with their loved ones and create lasting memories together.
Above all, destination weddings are about having fun and creating unforgettable memories with your loved ones. From pre-wedding adventures like snorkeling, hiking, or exploring local restaurants to post-wedding celebrations like beach bonfires, sunset cruises, and cocktail parties, destination weddings offer endless opportunities for fun and excitement. It's a chance to escape the ordinary and immerse yourselves in the joy and beauty of your chosen destination while celebrating the start of your new life together surrounded by those closest to you.
Built-In Honeymoon
One of the best perks of a destination wedding is that your honeymoon begins the moment you say "I do." After the festivities are over, couples can simply transition into their honeymoon and continue the adventure in their chosen destination. Whether it's exploring exotic locales, indulging in romantic dinners, or simply relaxing on the beach, the honeymoon phase of your destination wedding is a chance to unwind, celebrate, and start your married life together.
An Unforgettable Experience
At the end of the day, beach destination weddings offer couples an unforgettable experience that goes beyond the traditional wedding ceremony. It's a chance to embark on an adventure together, celebrate your love in a meaningful, personalized way, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Bridal Party Poses Ideas; It’s all about having fun!
Wedding Photography Poses – From Elegant to Fun and Candid
When planning your wedding photography, it’s important to consider the types of poses that will best reflect your personalities and the overall vibe of your celebration. Are you drawn to elegant and classic wedding poses, or do you prefer a more relaxed, fun, and playful style? Your wedding portraits should capture the genuine joy, love, and connections shared between you, your partner, and your bridal party.
Elegant and Classic Wedding Poses
For couples seeking a timeless and sophisticated look, classic wedding photography poses are a perfect choice. These traditional arrangements create polished, graceful images that remain stylish for decades. Some ideas include:
The bridal party standing in a line or semi-circle, with bridesmaids holding bouquets and groomsmen standing confidently with arms crossed
The bride and groom share a romantic kiss or gaze under a floral arch or a picturesque background
Formal portraits with parents, grandparents, and family members in structured, elegant groupings
Close-up shots of the couple holding hands, showing wedding rings, or embracing in soft, natural light
These formal wedding poses ensure your photos have a refined, timeless feel and are ideal for including in wedding albums and framed portraits.
Fun and Casual Wedding Photography Poses
If your goal is a more playful and relaxed aesthetic, casual and candid wedding photography poses are perfect for capturing energy, laughter, and authentic moments. Some creative ideas include:
Jumping poses with the bridal party or the couple for a sense of joy and excitement
Forming a heart shape with hands around the bride and groom, or using other fun props like balloons or signs
Group hugs, piggyback rides, or playful twirls for a lighthearted vibe
Candid moments of laughter, dancing, or even a toast with champagne during the getting-ready session
These creative wedding photography ideas not only capture personality but also add spontaneity and fun to your wedding gallery, reflecting the natural connections and emotions of the day.
Tips for Planning Your Wedding Poses
Mix It Up: Combine formal, classic portraits with candid, playful shots to create a well-rounded wedding photography collection.
Coordinate Outfits and Colors: Harmonizing attire for bridesmaids, groomsmen, or the entire family can make even playful shots look cohesive and visually appealing.
Use Your Venue: Incorporate the natural beauty of your location—beach, garden, or historic venue—into both posed and candid shots for added elegance and context.
Communicate with Your Photographer: Share your preferred style, poses, and any specific ideas beforehand. Experienced wedding photographers can suggest creative poses that suit your personality and venue.
Include Props and Personal Touches: Incorporating meaningful items, signage, or flowers can elevate even simple or fun poses, adding unique storytelling elements to your wedding photos.
Ultimately, the goal is to capture authentic moments, joy, and love shared with your partner and your bridal party. Whether you choose classic wedding portraits or a mix of fun, candid shots, these images will preserve the magic and emotion of your special day for years to come.
Your Dream Beach Weddings specializes in both timeless wedding photography and creative bridal party shots, ensuring every pose—from sophisticated to playful—is captured with artistry and care. By blending elegance, spontaneity, and authentic emotion, we create a complete wedding photography gallery that tells the full story of your celebration.
Creative Ways to Include Kids in Your Wedding
A wedding is a special event that includes guests of all ages, children included. However, a wedding is not an event that children usually find attractive and this could be a problem. As we all know, a bored kid can do all sorts of things just to get the attention and feel some excitement and this is definitely not something that the parents and the bride and the groom want.
This is why you should plan some activities that will help kids feel included in the wedding and make them feel special. Just like adults love dancing, kids may want to engage in some activities suitable to their age. Some couples may find this difficult because they are already preoccupied with their activities during the wedding day, but the fact is that it doesn’t take much to make kids in the weddings happy. Your wedding day is not only a celebration of love between you and your partner, but also an opportunity to share precious memories with your loved ones, including the little ones in your life. From participating in special ceremonies to adding unique touches to traditional roles, here are some creative ways to include kids in your wedding.
1. Sand Ceremony
If you already have kids together or are blending two families together, a great option is a sand ceremony that differs from the traditional unity candle ceremony by including each member of the family. You, your partner, and each child pours a different color sand into a single vessel symbolizing the blending of two families into one, creating a beautiful family keepsake that you can cherish for years to come. This is one of my favorite ways to include kids in the ceremony and your wedding day, as it communicates to them that you're all united together.
"As you now combine your sand together, your lives also join together as one family! They realize in order for a home to be a happy one, it is essential that there be love and understanding between the children and the adults being married.”
2. Walking Down the Aisle
Invite the children to walk down the aisle alongside the bride or groom, either individually or as a group. If you have younger children, you can also carry them down the aisle. This can be a heartwarming moment that symbolizes the joining of families and the beginning of a new chapter together.
3. Ring Bearer and Flower Girl
Of course, you can still include the traditional roles of ring bearer and flower girl, but consider adding a unique twist by letting the children personalize their roles. For example, instead of scattering petals, the flower girl could carry a small bouquet or a basket of flowers. Similarly, the ring bearer could hold a special sign or banner announcing the arrival of the bride.
4. Family Vows
Another sweet and sentimental way to Include children in your wedding day is having them be a part of the vow exchange by incorporating family vows into the ceremony. This allows you to express your commitment to each other, but also to your children and your family as a whole, promising to love and support them as part of your new family.
5. Family Portraits
This might seem obvious, but carving out time for family photos of you with your children is the perfect way to include them and have beautiful memories of this special moment. Wedding photos are one of the most important aspects of any wedding, and while you want and will get plenty of photos as newlyweds, including your kids in a few family portraits will serve as a beautiful reminder of the love shared by the entire family.
6. Special Kid Space
If you are planning an outdoor wedding, you can place a special smaller tent for the children. Even if you have an indoor wedding, you can mark a special area for kids. Instead of forcing children to sit with their parents, you can give them a chance to communicate and interact with their peers in these marked areas. This is the area where you can place some games, puzzles, books, movies or even gaming consoles. No matter what type of content you will use, you should remember to assign someone to watch the kids especially if we are talking about very young kids. There is no doubt that kids love such spaces because they make them feel like grownups and enjoy the time spent there.
7. Kid-Friendly Activities
Depending on the age of your kids or the number of kids invited to the wedding, you could set up a designated kids' area with activities and games to keep the little ones entertained. Making plans for party games designed for kids is another way to bring smiles to kid’s faces on a wedding and eliminate boredom. Maybe you have a few fun beach games, such as a bean bag toss, or provide sand buckets and shovels for the kids to play and entertain themselves in the sand. You can use these games at any stage of the wedding, but it is the best idea to let them play these games (or even participate in these games) right after the guests finish their meals (after the reception). Younger kids will be glad to play some of the all time favorite party games including blind man’s bluff or musical chairs.
Providing giveaway is a great idea too. The vast majority of children enjoy receiving gifts and favors. A simple scavenger hunt or some other similar game where they will get a chance to earn their favors and gifts will keep them busy for hours. Party favors that come in the form of toys are definitely a good solution.
8. Let Them Dance!
As mentioned before, dancing is the main activity of adult guests, but why not let children dance for 15-20 minutes? Find music that they like and let them be the main stars of the wedding for a short period of time. Don’t forget to take photos!
As you can see, kids can enjoy weddings and play special and active role without getting involved in mischief, but in order to achieve this you will have to make a good plan before the wedding starts. Including children into your wedding day creates a memorable family moment that will last a lifetime. These creative ideas will help make your wedding day even more memorable for both you and the children involved.

Wedding Day Timeline: From Getting Ready to Celebrating Love
Your wedding day is a whirlwind of excitement, anticipation, and love. There is so much to plan and pack into one day. Here at Your Dream Beach Wedding, we handle all the planning and ensure everything runs seamlessly and stress-free. In order to do this, it's essential to have a well-planned wedding timeline in place. From getting ready with your bridal party to saying "I do" and celebrating with loved ones, below is a breakdown of a typical wedding day timeline. However, please know that this is just a suggested guideline.
The first part of your wedding day is usually categorized as getting ready. However, it isn’t enough to just say, we will start getting ready at 8:00am. There needs to be a detailed timeline that includes who is getting ready and when, when photographers will arrive, if there will be a bridesmaids or family first look with the bride, and everything else to ensure there is enough time before the wedding ceremony. To figure out your wedding day timeline, it is best to have your wedding ceremony time set, and work backwards from that. For example, if your wedding ceremony starts at 5:30 pm, you would work backwards from there and fill in the timeline depending on what events you want to include.
Things To Consider When Planning Your Wedding Day Timeline Pre-Ceremony:
You want to schedule food delivery! You need to eat and stay hydrated so make sure you schedule a brunch with your girls or lunch delivery for the guys so no one is hungry going into the wedding ceremony.
Hair and makeup usually takes 60-90 minutes for the bride and 30-45 minutes for each member of the wedding party and parents.
Schedule your photographer to arrive with enough time to capture your wedding details, flatlays, and relaxed getting ready portraits.
Remember to savor this moment with your bridal party. Brides, enjoy some bonding time with your bridesmaids while getting dressed, getting the finishing touches, and bridal party photos taken. Grooms, relax with your groomsmen as you get ready for the ceremony and get a few photos, too.
If you and your partner are sharing a first look before the ceremony, typically wedding portraits, family portraits, and wedding party portraits would follow that moment. You would want to allot at least 2 hours for that, as well as any travel time.
Wedding Ceremony
Now that you’ve worked backwards from the ceremony, it’s time for the ceremony to start! Exchange vows and rings in front of your family and friends.
Enjoy the magic of this specialmoment as you officially become married. From here the timeline flows a little easier. The main factor that will affect your post wedding ceremony timeline is whether you took wedding portraits before the ceremony. If you did, you will not need to schedule as much time after the ceremony - maybe just a quick stroll at sunset during the golden hour. You might also want to take photos around the venue, before heading to the cocktail hour to enjoy a drink and relax with your guests before the wedding reception begins.
After cocktail hour is over, the reception festivities officially kick-off! You can see my guide to wedding receptions and the typical order of events in this blog here (one below I wrote). You can find more information and check out all our wedding packages here.
Here is an example of a wedding timeline with the ceremony starting at 6 pm. Move your timeline accordingly to your ceremony time.
When creating the timeline for your vendors, please ask each vendor their optimal time to arrive and get ready. When crafting a wedding schedule, the focus should be on setting the ceremony start time as the key anchor point.
